Yes, you can. Lodge Cast Iron cookware is made from solid cast iron, which works perfectly on induction as well as gas, electric, ceramic, oven, grill, and campfire heat sources.

Q: Can I use metal utensils?

Yes. Metal utensils like spatulas and tongs are safe to use on cast iron, as there’s no delicate non-stick coating to scratch. Just avoid aggressive scraping that could strip away your seasoning, and re-oil the pan if needed.

Q: Do I need to season it before first use?

No extra seasoning is required before first use. Lodge Cast iron cookware comes pre-seasoned from the Lodge foundry. We still recommend a quick rinse, thorough dry, and a light oiling after each use to build up the seasoning.

Durable cast iron can handle any type of utensil - even metal.

To care for your Seasoned Cast Iron:

Hand wash and dry immediately—even before first use.
Rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after every wash.
How much oil? Enough to restore the sheen, without being “sticky”. Why? To keep the iron “seasoned” and protected from moisture.
It's okay to use a little soap when needed, just make sure you dry thoroughly and apply a little oil afterwards.
