Q: What can I cook in a 20cm pan?

It’s perfect for two‑person meals like a couple of eggs or pieces of meat, as well as side dishes for the family. It is best suited for 1-2 people, depending on what you’re cooking.

Q: Do I need to season it before first use?

No extra seasoning is required before first use. Lodge Cast Iron cookware comes pre-seasoned from the Lodge foundry. We still recommend a quick rinse, thorough dry, and a light oiling after each use to build up the seasoning.

Q: Can I use metal utensils?

Yes. Metal utensils like spatulas and tongs are safe to use on cast iron, as there’s no delicate non-stick coating to scratch. Just avoid aggressive scraping that could strip away your seasoning, and re-oil the pan if needed.

Q: Can I use Lodge Cast Iron on induction cooktops & other heat sources?

Yes, you can. Lodge Cast Iron cookware is made from solid cast iron, which works perfectly on induction as well as gas, electric, ceramic, oven, grill, and campfire heat sources.

Q: Can I use soap to clean my Lodge cast iron cookware?

Yes, you can use a small amount of mild dish soap on modern cast iron cookware. The myth that soap ruins seasoning comes from old soaps that contained lye, which could strip the seasoning. Today&#39;s dish soaps are gentler and won&#39;t harm a well-seasoned pan if used occasionally and sparingly. Key cleaning tips: Use only a small amount of mild dish soap when needed Dry the skillet immediately and thoroughly after washing Apply a light coating of oil to maintain the seasoning For everyday cleaning, hot water and a stiff brush or scraper usually work just fine

Foundry seasoned, ready to use upon purchase (for more information on seasoning, click here).
Cook over any heat source, including induction.
Heat gradually and evenly. Avoid heating cast iron too quickly or applying extremely high heat to a concentrated area, as sudden or uneven temperature changes can cause cast iron to warp.
When cooking on a stovetop, use a heat source that is appropriately sized for your cookware to help promote even heating.
Oven safe.
Durable cast iron can handle any type of utensil - even metal.

To care for your Seasoned Cast Iron:

Hand wash and dry immediately—even before first use.
Rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after every wash.
How much oil? Enough to restore the sheen, without being “sticky”. Why? To keep the iron “seasoned” and protected from moisture.

love this, good quality and not too heavy, great to have a smaller pan

Works well. Very happy with it.
Have a 50 year old large skillet of unknown origins of extremely good quality and the three Lodge cast iron skillets that I now have are of the same quality and over the years I've tried many brands, which haven't made the grade.
