In 1896, in the tiny town of South Pittsburg, Tennessee, U.S.A., Joseph Lodge built a cast iron foundry. From this humble beginning, his legacy of quality cast iron cookware has gone on to thrive through two World Wars and the Great Depression, to be carried on by his family today in America’s only remaining foundry.
Naturally seasoned with oil, Lodge Cast Iron cookware is loved by chefs and home cooks the world over. Nothing can beat the even heating, heat retention, durability, and value of Lodge Cast Iron.
120 YEARS AND STILL COOKING
When founder Joseph Lodge cast his first piece of iron in Tennessee four generations ago, he knew his products were more than just metal. They are props in life's most treasured moments, shared with friends and family and handed down with love through generations.
Lodge has celebrated many milestones since 1896, and as we commemorate 120 years, we also look toward the next several generations. Though the tools and machinery used to make our cookware advances, our proud heritage remains rooted in one simple, timeless principle: make the best cookware possible.
Lodge Manufacturing Co remains today a family company, whose Chief Executive Officer and President are in fact great-grandsons of founder, Joseph Lodge.

USE & CARE
Keep it dry. Keep it oiled (seasoned). Keep it 100 years.
3 Easy Care Steps
- Wash – by hand, no soap necessary
- Dry immediately
- Season - rub with a light coat of vegetable oil after every use
- Apply enough oil to restore the sheen, without being sticky.
- If "no soap" is too scary mild soapy water is fine, but you must dry and oil immediately.
- DO NOT put it in the dishwasher!
- New cookware may stick so use a little oil when cooking.
- Lodge seasoned cast iron is right at home on any heat source, except the microwave.
- If you notice rust, scour the rust, rinse and dry, and rub with a little vegetable oil.
- If there is a lot of rust then you may have to re-season. Visit Lodge Re-Seasoning for directions. It's easy!
